Gallery 1936 was established by George Richards in October 2024, a century after the publication of André Breton's Manifeste du Surréalisme. The gallery specialises in British and international Surreal art, and takes its name from the International Surrealist Exhibition of 1936, which first united an emerging group of British Surrealists with their more established European contemporaries.
