Aurora Mineral was included in the artist's graduation show at the University of Puerto Rico in 1953. In his catalogue essay for the exposition, Eugenio Granell wrote that 'This exhibition points out one of those rare moments where artist and art would fuse into one. In it, shines the sign of the unmistakably true painting. Of the true painter. (...) Nobody knows where these fabulous conquests will announce the opening of a new horizon unknown until today, (but) the glitters of Aurora Mineral must be interpreted as good omens.'
