Cossette Zeno (1930 - )
Under Granell's mentorship at the University of Puerto Rico, Zeno developed a practice rooted in abstraction, biomorphism, and the exploration of unconscious imagery. While the Paris period triggered a decisive expansion in Zeno's work - particularly in the way the artist embraced automatism - Spare Parts illustrates a more subtle shift, and perhaps points to the influence of Jean Arp and the Dadaists, as the forms she creates have a more structural, geometric quality.
